Neptune Relays

Four stage relay race with stages of 1.7 miles. A figure of eight route around the Serpentine lake and the new lake of the recently restored scenic gem of Hardwick Country Park near Sedgefield.

A great team event on a lovely spring evening open to club and corporate teams.

Entries for 2016 now open (see below):

Studio 8 Photography of Sedgefield was on hand to take pictures of the event this year and pictures can be bought from them at a modest price with a proportion going to Sedgefield Harriers Back the Track appeal. Pictures will be at Studio8online

There was a record number of 120 entries at the 2014 Neptune Relays.  A entry of this size inevitably means that the changeover at the end of the first leg will be busy but we hope this didn't detract from the event and that everyone on leg B got off ok.  This year was the first year we had vet categories and these were quite difficult to sort out in the short time available at the end of the race but hopefully we'll improve on this next year.  Feedback on the race has all been very positive and we'd like to thank everyone for making it a great event once again.

Note: Although the course has always been run over the same route the directions of some parts of the route were altered for the 2012 race to accomodate more teams.  The course is reputed to be a few seconds faster since the changes.
